Software not launching (Icc error: "could not create directx files")

Problem

This article helps us to determine the following case: 

1. Software not launching a window

2. Debug error reads "could not create directx files"

This means there is a good chance that the software is prioritising your integrated on board graphics over your computers dedicated graphics cards.  

Solution

1. Right-click the blank space of the desktop. Select NVIDIA Control Panel to switch between two graphics manually under Manage 3D Settings > Preferred Graphics Processor.

after hitting apply this should allow users to run the software on the Nvidia GPU, causing directx files to be created.
